“Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb today issued a Consumer Alert to customers of the genetic testing company 23AndMe, warning District residents that their genetic data may be at risk after the company declared bankruptcy this week. While the company states that there will be no change to the storage, management, or protection of customer data, it is important to protect your sensitive genetic data from risk. For example, the company may attempt to transfer or sell your genetic data as part of the bankruptcy proceedings. (more…)
