“As announced in mid-April, all District and non-resident patients and caregivers are required to have a valid registration to purchase medical cannabis effective Thursday, July 1, 2021.

A 60-day grace period was announced shortly afterwards to allow patients time to secure new recommendations from their healthcare practitioners and updated government-issued photo IDs (if needed)–delaying the deadline date to Monday, September 1.  No additional extensions will be granted. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

On Sunday afternoon around 4PM, my partner and I were walking South on 14th near T street. Around the intersection, we both saw a woman walking in the middle of the sidewalk toward us, and both chose to go around her in opposite directions (this was a narrow part of the sidewalk right by the little outdoor pods outside Bresca). The woman bee-lined directly toward me while mumbling something inaudibly, and as I tried to avoid a head-on collision, she open palm punched me on the side of the head, with a bag in her hand, which pushed me against a big trashcan on the sidewalk. “Dear PoPville,

My car windows were smashed parked overnight at 9th and Q Streets on Sunday evening. Apparently many other cars as well. My father’s coworkers’ windows were smashed at 9th and O the same evening. Apparently, there’s a man that walks around offering to repair their windows which makes me suspect they break them and then offer to repair them as a scam.”

I was losing my mind but read about it in one of our rant/revels. Oak mite bites are truly truly awful. The Post reported:

“The incessant, shrieking sounds of cicadas may no longer be afflicting the Washington region, but experts say the insects may be bringing a new nuisance — oak leaf itch mites. And they bite.

These microscopic mites are feeding on the billions of cicada eggs produced across the D.C. region and dropping out of trees. If you happen to be under or near these oak trees, those mites may land on you and bite.”

I am hoping to alert NoMa residents to a credit card mail theft scheme that has happened to at least five NoMa residents in the past few months.

Through Facebook and Reddit, I have corroborating stories from five separate victims that their new credit cards were stolen in the mail, activated, and then used for thousand-dollar shopping sprees at Tyson’s Corner, Virginia. (more…)
