“I’ve seen a dog snatched once and it was terrible.”

“Seen outside of Safeway in Petworth”

“Dear PoPville,

A reminder for people to never tie up/leave their dogs when they go into stores.

Not only is the owner not there to respond if that dog gets into an altercation with another animal the sidewalk, but it is just so dangerous for the dog!

Theft is a crime of opportunity, and stolen dogs are sold, used as bait dogs in dogfighting, or worse. I know we’ve all felt like we can pop in and out of a store in just a few minutes, but it only takes seconds to lose your dog forever.

I’ve seen a dog snatched once and it was terrible. It happened in an instant and all of us bystanders were helpless to stop it.”
