“Car Break-ins in Noma Parking Garage”

“Dear PoPville,

The below-email is from the Elevation building (100 Florida Ave. NE), the big apartment building on Dave Thomas Circle. As you’ll see, there were numerous break-ins of vehicles in the parking garage this past week. This is not the first incident involving this parking garage, which is used both by building residents and commuters to Noma. Back around New Years, there were several acts of vandalism, including car’s tires being slashed and one vehicle even being set on fire. The building had contracted out security after those incidents but apparently let the contract lapse. These incidents seem of interest to those living, working, and hanging out in Noma.”

‘Dear Residents,

It has come to our attention over the last week that a handful of car break-ins have occurred in the parking garage. In most instances, the break-ins have occurred due to unlocked doors and rolled down windows.

We wanted to remind everyone to make sure your car doors are locked, and your windows are rolled up. Do not allow anyone to follow-you into the garage, and do not let anyone have access to garage that does not have a parking pass or a residential fob. The DC Police are involved, and we have contracted out security for the parking garage to curtail these events.

If you see something, say something. Call the police, and contact the 24/7 concierge team. Please click here for more information from DC Police on combating break-ins.

Sincerely,

The Elevation Team’
