Thanks to Rob for sending: “So Sad, Too Bad – Red Sharpie Parking Pig strikes again!

Spotted this note laying on the sidewalk on S Street near the dog park in Dupont. When I picked it up I realized this isn’t the note from yesterday, but a new one that picks up where the first one left off. Unfortunately the recipient must have ripped the top corner when they removed it.”

“Dear PoPville,

I saw a car park this weekend at the end of a block at 3rd and I St NE and get a ticket with 30 min for being too close to the stop sign at the end of the street. That car was then towed away only a few hours later only to have another car park in the “spot” a few minutes later.

DC law is you have to park at least 25 feet short of a stop sign but there is no sign marking the distance or staying no parking in this location. (more…)

Jay sends the above from SW: “Almost got run over by a biker when clearly there was no reason to be on a sidewalk.”

And Frank sends the shot below from Georgetown: “A contender for the Jack Evans Park Anywhere Award.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I need parking help.

I have a zone 6 residential parking pass and park on a zone 6 residential block. However, I have received two tickets in the past two months for “failure to pay the meter.” It’s in MVT where the blocks alternate between meter and residential. I was under the below sign. Am I missing something or receiving incorrect tickets? Is this normal?”

Thanks to Luis for sending from Columbia Heights.

I think it’s a toss up. You?

Have readers have had similar issues receiving their Visitors Parking Pass (VPP)? In 2018 I never received mine after registering in November 2017. I called DDOT and they said they made a mistake and will resend to their printer, which would take 3-4 weeks, then I’d have to pickup at their offices in SW. (more…)
