How does a resident go about verifying that reserved handicapped spots on the street are still needed? I know of multiple incidents where a family member passes away and the family keeps the handicapped reserved spot, limiting parking on the street for neighbors. (more…)

Having a horrible experience with the DC parking portal! The previous occupant of my apartment unit didn’t update their address, so I’m unable to get a visitor permit. Two of their operators told me I had to (somehow?) get in touch with this person to get them to change/delete. (more…)

I posted my Emergency No Parking signs for a moving truck 72+ hours in advance, but forgot to upload the photos in time and so the photo verification failed….does this just mean I can’t call 311 to get people towed or are my signs totally invalid now?“

“Dear PoPville,
Having followed my fellow readers’ shared frustration with the awful new ParkDC system, I thought I’d contribute my experience.
After two and a half weeks calling and emailing the ParkDC help line about adding the address of my Connecticut Avenue condo building to their system so I could create a guest parking pass, I finally went straight to the source today and called DDOT directly.
On the phone with a rep, I was told that because it is zoned as a commercial rather than a residential street, any and all Connecticut Ave. addresses are not included in their system and are thus ineligible for visitor parking passes. (more…)
