Last seen at Pennsylvania and Potomac Ave SE. His collar and leash were found at the footbridge along the Anacostia trail.
His name is Frank–He’s a Liver Tan Miniature schnauzer, 3 YO and weighs 15 lbs.
He’s extremely scared and fearful of strangers and will run.

A super woman that happened to be in the neighborhood fixing a flat tire on her bike (after completing the 50 States Ride) found him hanging around near Patrick’s Pet Care and went above and beyond to make sure he was safe. “Found dog! “Do you know who I am? I am sweet 12/10 good boy who got a bit lost this morning and was found at the Takoma Aquatic Center. I’m older, with cloudy eyes and a shakey leg, but I love pets and kids and don’t seem to mind (or see) other dogs. I have a microchip tag but it wasn’t registered and my other tag goes back to HRA. I’ll head there later this afternoon after I digest my snack, but keep an eye out for my humans! I’ve already won the hearts of my found friends.”
His rabies tag is from 2017 from Georgetown Vet Hospital but they are closed this weekend. We are going to drop him at 1201 New York Ave (HRA hq for lost pups) today (7/7/18). Get the word out! (more…)

My dog went missing yesterday in the Shepherd Park neighborhood and has been missing now for a full day. Here is the info on her:
Avery – 2-3 year old female pit bull mix. She is shy but loves food so will come to you if you have treats or peanut butter. She escaped from a backyard at Portal Drive and Eastern Ave NW. We live closer to Petworth so she could be wandering between the two neighborhoods as well. She was last seen around 2 pm Wednesday 1-17-18.

“Gator is 15 pound chihuahua basenji mix with fox like coloring and features. He was wearing a bow tie and shirt for NYE. He is cautious around new people but extremely friendly after he warms up.
We have an update. He was seen this morning at benning road where the bridge starts over the anacostia at the north east edge of the rfk parking lot. He’s likely in the woods on the river bank.

“We found a dog in Wangari Gardens this morning and he doesn’t have a tag but does have a nice collar and seems like a well looked after dog with a nice collar. He seems trained and is really friendly. I called the Humane Rescue Alliance.”
“We found this cute lil pup yesterday (3rd and Decatur St, NW) he is currently at the Humane Rescue Alliance on New York Ave. If you know of anyone who lost a pup that fits his description please share. We named him “NoChip” since he, unfortunately, has not been chipped.
He was super friendly and trusting, playing with other dogs and children, and followed us without a leash. If his owner does not come forward within 5 days he will be up for foster care or adoption. Contact the Humane Rescue Alliance or follow this link for more information here.”
