“City-State Brewing Co. is celebrating the day same-sex marriage became legal in DC with a day of wedding ceremonies for couples whose union honors the historical milestone. On Dec. 18th, couples will say their vows, tie the knot and toast their love with — what else? — City-State’s Equal Marriage® dark wheat, a beer of harmonious unions for joyous occasions.

“We will require proof of a covid vaccination until further notice at Pitchers/ALOHO [A League of Her Own] and masks per the Mayor. [Ed. Note: mayor’s order requires masks indoors starting Saturday.] We take guidelines and the health of our patrons and staff very seriously. After we posted about Velvet Lounge and Dodge City closing yesterday, a reader wrote: “The new lease is set for a new gay bar.”

A tipster (with an over 95% accuracy rating. update now 93%) tells me that it is likely from the same ownership as Dirty Goose located next door.

Update: “A TDG (Dirty Goose) owner here. We do know the plans for the spaces, but it is not us. We deeply respect the new operator and will let them announce as they see fit”

“The suspect brandished a machete and threatened to stab the victim” 13 Year Later Old Arrested

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Machete) offense that occurred on Saturday, June 12, 2021, in the 500 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 3:00 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a machete and threatened to stab the victim. The suspect then made derogatory comments towards the victim and fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

On Sunday, June 13, 2021, a 13 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Machete). (more…)
