Westbrook Partners and MRP Realty (MRP), developers and managers of commercial, residential, mixed-use and industrial real estate across the Mid-Atlantic region, along with Baltimore-based Cana Development (CANAdev), food and retail asset management experts, announce more details behind the newest restaurants coming to Western Market. The new food hall, first announced in February, will revive the original historic marketplace at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, D.C.
“We continue to be inspired by the resiliency of restaurant owners, given the current retail environment,” said Tim Hill, Vice President of Investments, MRP Realty. “At Western Market, we welcome our roster of local, small business owners who reflect the kaleidoscope of DC’s culturally-rich food scene.”
The original Western Market was constructed in 1802 as one of three original markets in Architect Pierre L’Enfant’s blueprint for the city. Located in the heart of the Foggy Bottom neighborhood adjacent to George Washington University, Western Market will feature a dynamic line up of vendors, offering both locals and visitors a modern culinary destination that reflects the diverse and resilient community of Washington, D.C.
