From a press release:

“It’s a busy Tuesday at the local Duke’s Grocery gastropubs in the District, celebrating the launch of the pop-up Pho Joint and the unveiling of the Toddy Bar’s fall cocktails.

Pho Joint Menu – Pop Up @ Duke’s Grocery Foggy Bottom

The Pho Joint, housed at the Duke’s location in Foggy Bottom, offers five kinds of the beloved Vietnamese soup for dine in, takeout and delivery via UberEats, GrubHub and Doordash. Thanks to a reader for sending: “ran by the Brooks Brothers store on Connecticut in Dupont, and appears that a number of “Retail space available” signs went up over the weekend. Website confirms the location is now closed permanently. Between this and the Georgetown location closure, may be the death knell for Brooks Brothers in DC.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

My kids are very eager to know whether we’ll be trick-or-treating this year and I have no idea what to tell them, so I’d be curious to hear whether neighbors in petworth plan to give out candy or whether I should start downplaying expectations for them.”

Ed. Note: The photo above was sent from Woodley Park where you drop the candy down the tube so the kids don’t have to walk up the stairs. Other cool things I’ve heard is neighbors hiding candy on their lawns so kids don’t have to go to the door.

“Dear PoPville,

I’m wondering if anyone else is having issues with unemployment back pay? I haven’t received any payments since early July. I’ve emailed and called DOES with no answers. Any ideas?
Can I get Mayor Bowser to help? Or can I force Wmata to give me the $400 on my metro card because I a) don’t have a job to travel to, and b) need the money.

Any advice would be appreciated!”
