“As you can see from the photo, a large piece of brick was thrown through our window in the middle of the night. We are fortunate this happened at a time when no one was in the shop; we are all safe and repairs are underway. However, incidents like this make being a small business so difficult – especially in 2020. We will pick up the pieces and carry on, just like we’ve navigated the rest of 2020. But what a rough way to start the holiday season.”

“First District Patrol units have arrested a male subject in regards to a Bicycle Theft case in the 700 Block G Street SE.

A complainant reported her bike stolen on Saturday, August 22th. On the following Sunday morning, the complainant encountered a male subject riding the stolen bike and waived down a passing patrol unit. When police attempted to contact the subject, he immediately fled. Read More

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in connection with an Assault With Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2020, in the 1100 block of 8th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 7:00 am, the victim encountered the suspect at the listed location. The suspect requested the victim engage in a sexual act while exposing himself. When the victim refused, the suspect brandished a knife and assaulted the victim. Read More

From MPD: “At approximately 11:00 pm last night in the 500 block 8th St SE, an unknown suspect(s) broke glass to the front door to an establishment and stole 2 bottles of whiskey and fled. Suspect information is unknown. Anybody with information is encouraged to call the MPD tip line at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.”
