“UPDATE: Heads up, Red Line customers. Please expect the following service patterns as we continue to address the water intrusion issue affecting our signaling system at Van Ness. Customers may experience crowding at Dupont Circle if trains have to offload. Please continue to check http://wmata.com and Metro Pulse for real-time information.

UPDATE: Red Line: Trains are operating every 6 minutes between Shady Grove and North Bethesda in both directions. Between Friendship Heights and Dupont trains are operating every 10-12 minutes in both directions, and from Dupont to Glenmont every 6 minutes in both directions. Customers will continue to experience delays in both directions.

Attention Red Line customers. Your commute this morning will be severely impacted due to water intrusion affecting signals outside Van Ness. We apologize for this inconvience as our crews continue to address this matter. Please allow extra time for travel.”

National Guard troops spotted at entrance (15th and Euclid St, NW) of Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park on Sunday afternoon.

“Dear PoPville,

There was a shooting – I swear 15+ shots – around 1:20pm right at the meridian hill/malcolm x park entrance on 16th and Euclid. Terrifying. I thought it was fireworks because there were SO many shots in a row.”
