Following on the heels of the coconut conundrum comes this milk mystery from Mary:
“this is the fourth time these cartons of milk have been left on me and my neighbors doors. We have no idea whose putting it there. Any insight?”

“Dear PoPville,
Here’s an old mystery for a new year. I’ve lived in what is technically “university heights” for 7+ years, and walk down the hill to Petworth regularly. And frequently, but without discernible regularity, there is a smashed coconut on the intersection of Harewood and Rock Creek Church Road. Just in front of the cemetery gate but in the road. Art D. dropping the knowledge: “Starlings. It’s called a “murmuration”. They do this to get food and/or evade predators.”

“Dear PoPville,
Spotted in a Petworth alley — I’m assuming this is an ADU, but the architecture seem kinda wonky. New as of a few (3?) weeks ago…Wondering if any readers have any light to shed (no pun intended) on this structure.”
