Thanks to Sean for sending:

“it’s been forever since you’ve posted about your favorite tree. The one attached is from the West End Community Garden and is magnificent this year thanks to all of the rain.”

Ed. Note: My favorite tree is of course the one in the middle of Grant Circle, but these are indeed pretty great too!!

Ed. Note: More info on how to recycle your tree here. Remember: “trees should be placed where your recyclables are regularly collected between Jan. 13 and Feb. 2. Curbside ONLY if that’s where your recyclables are normally collected.”

Thanks to Meg for sending the above from 14th and Monroe St, NW. And below from Lindsay, which make no mistake is spectacular, but still:

So much for the spraying. Some blocks downtown were a bloody minefield. And may God have mercy on our noses.

I could smell 14th and Corcoran from a half block away. Seriously. Fortunately we should get some beautiful photos in a few weeks, so stay tuned for the good part.

“Dear PoPville,

This is kind of a random question, but does anyone have any idea what the oldest trees in DC are? I ask because there is a pretty massive tree in front of my house (see photo above), and it seems like it has been there longer than even this part of the neighborhood (Woodridge).”

Ed. Note: Off to Casey Trees I go, BRB.
