“Dear PoPville,

I had a question that I thoughts your readers might know. Have the flights paths for DCA recently changed? I have lived in DC a long time and in my current house in SW for 6 years, and a few months ago I staring noticing that several times a day commercial fights were taking offing and heading right over my house, most in a Northeast direction. Update: “MPD reports the first amendment activity has cleared on I-395 at the 7th Street Ramp and the associated road closure is now open.”

Shelby writes at 8:38am: “looks like a group of protestors have 395 shut down”

From a press release:

“Dr. Rose Abramoff (a US climate change scientist and member of Scientist Rebellion), Declare Emergency and their supporters blocked I-395 (at the 7th St SW overpass) in Washington DC. (more…)

Yesterday AlertDC reported: ” US Air Force reports a flyover in the NCR consisting of two (2) military aircrafts at National Park on Thursday, April 7th, 2022 at 3:59PM.”

The Nats confirmed “Flyover by the 113th Wing, 121st Fighter Squadron from the D.C. Air National Guard, in F-16 Jets”

Since the game was pushed back to 7:05pm, presumably this will now occur at 6:59. Anyway if you see/hear some fighter jets later, this is why.

“Dear PoPville,

Around 9am this morning, my husband and I were dropping our son off at daycare when we noticed one of the owners running out onto Bladensburg Rd. It was then that we realized he was attempting to help an elderly woman who was struck in the crosswalk across Bladensburg Rd. NE at the intersection of Oates/K St. NE. Since we happened upon the scene shortly after it occurred, it was unclear how the hit occurred. There was a white SUV that pulled over and the driver was out helping, but I can’t be sure that is the car that struck the woman. Several passersby and drivers stopped their cars to shield the woman on the ground and we saw emergency response heading that way shortly after. She was conscious when we saw her.

The hit and run accident I also mentioned (in a tweet) occurred on March 21 on Oates St. NE. (more…)

Thanks to Ketti for sharing. Unfortunately the link in the poster is not currently active but I did come across this interesting historical tidbit that I never knew:

“Hains Point is named for the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Peter Conover Hains, the engineer who designed the Tidal Basin. Here, the Potomac River, Washington Channel, and Anacostia River all converge.”

Will post again on April 19th when more info on the designs are released.
