“Dear PoPville,
How in the world did this happen to our alley neighbor overnight?!
The white BMW is always parked in what used to be a little protected parking space and the grey gate would swing open to allow access in and out. This morning it appears another car forcefully joined the BMW by completely smashing through the enclosure. (more…)

From MPD Tuesday:
“Tonight at approximately 7:15 PM, during a road rage incident, an aggressive driver brandished a firearm at another motorist on the 11th Street Bridge SE. Based on the rapid response by patrol and crime suppression officers, the suspect and vehicle were located near 3rd St SE and L St SE. With help from our K9 team, we were able to locate a firearm and arrest the suspect for ADW-Gun.”

“Dear PoPville,
This is the second time in a week (and umpteenth time this year) that the police have parked in our designated, residential handicapped parking spot. Not for emergency purposes, but for their convenience because we live across the street from the police station. The last time they did this they left the car in the spot overnight. I have at least a dozen other photos of them parking in our spot.”

Thanks to Joanna for sending: “Maryland truck parked in permit only parking, in front of a fire hydrant, and past the parking sign post which in turn visually blocks the stop sign from traffic. I’ve seen people blow through intersections when work trucks park like this because they fail to see the stop sign.”

Andrew reported at 7:49am: “Local recharger crashes van full of scooters. C and 13 ne – my son and I ran by it at about 6:45 AM when it happened, the intersection is now shut down and they’re directing all traffic around it” (more…)

Oof, thanks to Whitney for sending Sunday from: “3rd Street and Whittier Streets NW
clearly someone completely smashed into the front of this parked car and drove off. Totaled, no doubt, and also hit the two cars behind it because of the force.”

Natalia reports around 10:15am:
“Knocked out at least two windows. Someone affiliated with the restaurant said a truck was driving on the sidewalk and ran into the restaurant.”
Ed. Note: Earlier this morning there was an incident outside Ford’s theater but that was not a truck. I don’t believe the two are related but updates if that changes.

Hope reports:
“Walking to work past Ford’s theater this morning and a car was coming toward a bunch of us walking on the sidewalk. The car hit a trash can and the driver jumped out. A Good Samaritan turned the car off because it started to roll back down the sidewalk. FBI police chased driver down the street on foot. (more…)
