I thought this description from NCinDC was pretty funny:

Signs inside Crown Fried Chicken located at 716 H Street, NE

My better half wanted some fried chicken; myself, being a country boy from eastern North Carolina, wanted some collard greens. I asked one of the many people loitering outside Crown if they knew the best place to get collard greens. FUN FACT: collard greens is apparently slang for weed, or is it crack? The woman I had asked began telling everyone within earshot that I was a cop and to stay away from me. The cashier at Crown told me I should have said greens, sans collard.

A reader sends this one in from 11th and M St, NW:

“Now that Easter is done, it’s time to start thinking about taking down the Christmas tree.”

I am happy to report that the discarded trees from the 3500 block of New Hampshire Ave, NW have been picked up.

Mt. Vernon Square street-scape/sidewalk-scape(?) improvements continue. I’m digging these new benches. Though not a great view at the moment:

From an email:

Join us Friday, March 8th, to meet Megan Mullally
(Karen on Will & Grace, Mrs. Ron Swanson on Parks & Rec — and in real life!).
She’ll be in the shop signing her new cd and being her charming self,
then performing at The Birchmere later that evening with her new band, Nancy & Beth).

FRIDAY, MARCH 8th • 1:00pm — 3:00pm

1350 Connecticut Ave., NW

Had to do a double check when I passed this dog on a roof next to Morgan’s Seafood off Georgia Ave. But when I called animal control they said it was all good – there is a ramp that the dog can climb up and stretch his legs and do some people watching when he wants. Now that I write this, I kinda feel like a reader once told us about this in the past. Anyway, fear not if you notice a dog checking you out from a roof while you’re walking around Georgia Ave., it’s cool. And actually pretty awesome once you realize he’s just chilling.

From youtube:

After a long night of celebrating the re-election of President Obama, a drunken man rages through the streets of Washington DC with little mercy. Armed with nothing more than a scarf, the drunken man valiantly battles oncoming traffic before coming face to face with DC’s Fire & Rescue team.
