I just launched a small crowdfunding project to buy a case of Trump Wine in dump it in my sink. I’ve asked for double the cost to make an equal donation to Voto Latino. Here’s the project:

As Donald Trump continues his campaign based on fear and hate and in honor of the national campaign to #DumpTrump, I would like to buy a case of of the 2014 Meritage at the Trump Winery and dump it down my kitchen sink. Here are the tasting notes:

“With a brilliant, intense ruby red color, this wine has a nose lightly toasted with dominant aromas of black cherry, current, cocoa, and fresh herbs. This fresh, medium body wine is fruit forward, soft and approachable. The palate offers some spicy notes with soft supple tannins.”

If I’ve been lax in my support of DC Voting/Statehood in the past – I never will be again. Thanks to all who sent emails and tweets about this political nonsense. That folks in Congress (like this guy, Andy Harris etc.) have a say over our District is beyond maddening. Quote in the title of this post is from a book about Petey Greene who, I can only imagine, would’ve schooled these fools.

Update from the White House:

The Washington Post reported:

“Garland, 63, is a longtime Washington lawyer and jurist who is chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Considered a moderate, Garland is widely respected in the D.C. legal community and was also a finalist for the first two Supreme Court vacancies Obama filled.”

The New York Times reported:

“President Obama on Wednesday will nominate Merrick B. Garland as the nation’s 113th justice, according to White House officials, choosing a centrist appeals court judge widely respected even by Republicans in hopes his choice will be considered by the Senate.”

Yesterday morning when I picked up my copy of the Express in Old Town, I found this Trump flier (photo attached) inside it. Is Trump advertising in the Express now? I didn’t think they sold political ads. Anyway, it was weird to find a partisan (and borderline racist) advertisement a general-interest newspaper.

Thought you might find this interesting. There’s just something a little disturbing about it.”

“Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.

Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa.”
