I’ve done some Googling and haven’t seen any updates on the Shaw Dog Park since January – all saying it’ll reopen with the skate park in August. Well, it’s August and I haven’t heard a thing. It looks like they’re still working on it.

I’m sure there are many others in the area that would want to know an update.”

Not only have the “dog people” taken over and destroyed the lower field in Rose Park but they are now doing the same to the baseball field that they just spent almost a year redoing. (more…)

Long time coming but finally getting there.

“The Hearst Park & Pool includes design and construction of two brand new tennis courts with a practice wall, the renovation of the existing soccer field, a new pool and pool house, remediation of site drainage, runoff and erosion issues. The Project will also include landscaping, fencing, site furnishings, amenities, signage, and pathways.”

From NPS:

“On Monday, July 26, the National Park Service (NPS) will begin work to improve the streets around Lafayette Park including Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Madison Place and Jackson Place.

During the road construction, the NPS will temporarily close these streets and post detours to guide pedestrians and bicyclists around the closures, which are expected to last until fall 2021. Lafayette Park will remain open during construction. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to put it out to the community that there was a man in Kalorama park Wednesday night who was either on a phone call or pretending to be on a phone call for the entirety of a friend’s yoga class. When we were seeming to be not paying attention or in a down dog position he was noticeably taking photos or videos of us. When this was blatantly obvious I approached him and asked if that was what he was doing, which he said yes but he only took one photo and it was because he used to do yoga and thought we were very accomplished and wanted to show a friend.
