A reader reports Sunday:
“I have lived in NE for 4 years and this is an annual occurrence. The walkway is named after a woman whom was killed a few years ago. I would like to help closing this lane from traffic coming off Florida.”
Ed. Note: I believe the cars are flying off Florida Ave onto 11th. Watch the full video here.

Thanks to Derrick for sending from his 1927 row house in Trinidad:
“I was renovating the back addition of my house, which was a screen porch, eventually converted to a room. We removed the baseboards and came across these. Baseball card from 1964, a 1930s wheat penny, some child’s drawings, newspapers from the 50’s and a pin for Glen Echo Park. Not sure of date.”
If you have a photo of a neat find from your house or place of work please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail.com thanks. Please let me know where/what neighborhood you found it in too. Thanks.
“My sweet hairless (sphynx breed) grey cat that I got at Arlington animal shelter about 12 years ago is missing. I think she escaped when I took the trash and recycling bins out for the city pick up last night. I am in the northeast part of Trinidad.
Any information that anyone could possibly scrape from anywhere = thank you

After looking inside, I can’t tell if this is like the “microscope store”, straight up art, straight up entrepreneurial (ie selling cold water on a hot day) or straight up bat shit crazy. I guess we gotta find out the prices…

“Dear PoPville,
Here’s a pic of what the building that collapsed looks like this morning. There were crews out late trying to stabilize the building and clean and secure the area especially front bordering the Florida Avenue and the sidewalk. You could feel the bricks and beams falling down last night. It was also pretty dusty this morning. I heard The Fringe Arts building was not damaged by the collapse so that’s good news.”
Jason E Burkett; ANC 5D06 replied to initial post yesterday @PoPville with:
“I reported this building to @dcra few weeks ago after a resident complaint and supposedly an inspection was scheduled 1/9. How was this not avoided! #ANC5D #TrinidadDC @dcra has some explaining to do.” Read More
Thanks to Dan for sending the photo above: “Florida Ave NE at Staples St NE. It’s the building adjacent to Fringe.”
Thanks to Andy Feliciotti for sharing the absolutely crazy video below with us:
“Well this is kind of crazy, my security camera picked up a building randomly collapsing today. Read More
