Thanks to Jason for sending:

“any information on Olive Bistro and Cafe coming into the old Bread + Salt location in Tenleytown?”

Tenleytown Main Streets reported:

“The latest entrant into the Tenleytown restaurant scene will offer a Mediterranean-influenced menu, with a strong emphasis on Turkish cuisine.

The new restaurant will offer full-service lunch and dinner during the week, with plans to expand into breakfast on the weekends. A late night bar will serve signature drinks with a Turkish spin, while on the side patio they plan for hookah to be available. And, of course, patrons can enjoy a special blend of freshly brewed Turkish coffee.”

The long vacant Firelake Grill (OG Ruby Tuesday and once planned for Guapo’s and Five Guys) will finally have a new tenant – Surfside!! Eater DC reports:

“Ten years after Surfside first brought its gourmet tacos and margaritas to D.C., restaurateur Bo Blair is ramping up expansion plans by opening at least two more locations next spring.

Blair recently signed a lease for a new Tenleytown spot at 4200 Wisconsin Avenue NW, he tells Eater. Another deal is close to being closed at the Wharf across from the historic Maine Avenue Fish Market.”

In an email Bo shares a few more details with me:

“We are going to do a 24 taco stand, like Dupont. It will be fast casual with no waiter service. We will be serving Margaritas, beers and specialty cocktails. We are shooting for an April 1, 2019 opening. The outdoor patio will be killer.”

Check out their menus here and STAY TUNED.

From Kickstarter:

“First things first: Fort Reno is absolutely happening this year. We’ve already secured a permit and the necessary funding to host six shows, which will likely run throughout July. So no need to worry in that regard. That said, we’re hoping to go a bit bigger.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Fort Reno Concert Series, and we’d like to celebrate with an extended season. To make that happen, we’ve decided to seek some additional financial support. (more…)
