From Alert DC:
“Pepco reports a power outage in the Shepherd Park /Takoma area of NW affecting approximately 4500 customers. The estimated restoration time is 6PM”
I have to admit, I’m freaking loving this new feature, if you have a photo of a neat find from your house or place of work please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail.com thanks.
This might be my favorite one yet:
“Gunther’s beer Premium Dry Lager
Packed at the Brewery by Gunther Brewing Co. Inc., Baltimore MD
Tax paid at the rate prescribed by Internal Revenue
Flat top – requires churchkey to open
I believe this can was buried behind my bathroom walls in 1947 when the house was built (Shepherd Park). Which matches the date range for the tax label (required on cans filled before March 1950). The Gunther brewery building still exists in B’more – turned into apartments!”
Unbelievable
From the MPD-4D Listserv:
“Tiffani is a 5 year old, 7 pound toy Yorkie who was visiting DC from NJ for Thanksgiving when she was taken during a burglary [16th and Primrose NW]. Please be on the lookout. She has a rhinestone collar with ID tags. Contact dkingjohnson(at)msn.com for more information.”
Update: Returned!
“Dear PoPville,
The Car2Go that this note was on was parked at 14th and Roxanna St. NW, near Eastern Ave. and downtown Silver Spring, MD.”

Thanks to a reader for passing on word from the TakomaDC listserv. The plans are for Harris Teeter to open in 2016. The project would also include 220 residential units.
Another cool one from Shepherd Park. Kinda reminds me of some of the ski chalet looking ones in Crestwood.
Not far from the Silver Spring border in Shepherd Park/North Portal Estates in DC.
