Palisades Drinks Menu (PDF)

From a press release:

“Lahlou Restaurant Group, which owns and operates Lupo Verde, Station 4 and Tunnicliff’s Tavern, is pleased to announce a second location of their popular Italian concept, Lupo Verde Osteria, which is scheduled to open April 18th. The intimate 95-seat restaurant, which translates to “green wolf”, will serve authentic, rustic, Italian fare in the residential Palisades area at 4814 MacArthur Blvd, NW. Med Lahlou, a resident of the Palisades for the last decade, purchased the 3,200-square-foot, restored, brick three-story building so that he could bring his popular Italian restaurant to his friends and family in his own neighborhood. The restaurant will open with dinner service with brunch and a first floor boutique Italian market to be added at a later date.

Corporate Chef Matteo Venini will oversee the Lupo Verde Osteria menu which will be similar to its sister restaurant at 1401 T Street, NW. Venini will continue to oversee the menu at Lupo Verde on 14th Street, as well as Lupo Marino, which is scheduled to open in early May within The Wharf development in the Southwest Waterfront. “Dear PoPville,

My husband and I are looking to move from Dupont and are considering the Berkeley/Kent/Palisades area.

Upon researching the area, I came across the noise issues some of the neighbors are discussing with respect to the changing flight times and paths coming from DCA. Here is a Washington Post article that discusses this situation:

“In the District, there were 1,286 noise complaints in 2014; by 2015, the year NextGen changes were implemented, complaints jumped to 8,670 (although airport officials are quick to note that 6,500 of the complaints last year came from the same person). Even so, residents say complaints have risen dramatically.”

My question for the community is if the noise from the airplanes is really as constant and loud as the articles are making it out to be?”

File this under bonkers – Fox 5 reported last week:

“A West Virginia man is facing several charges after authorities say he shot a deer in Washington D.C. It happened close enough to the Palisades neighborhood in Northwest D.C., that neighbors heard the gunfire and called police to help.

The Washington Humane Society said the male deer had 14 points on his antlers and was estimated to weigh about 250 pounds.”

WTOP reported:

“Goyne used a handgun, according to the police report.

Goyne is being held without bond until his next court date scheduled for Oct. 12.”

The liquor license placard for Lupo Alimentari & Vineri says:

“New C Restaurant with a Total Occupancy Load of 115 seats. Applicant requests to have an Entertainment Endorsement and a Sidewalk Café with seating for 14 patrons.”

The Washington Business Journal previously reported:

“The restaurant may add “osteria” or another designation to its name but it will be called Lupo Verde, and it will bring the 14th Street restaurant’s signature homemade pastas, along with an expanded menu of entrees including steak, and chef Domenico Apollaro’s porchetta.”

Stay tuned for an opening date.
