“Dear PoPville,
I’m a resident on H St NE and I’d like to bring public notice to the chaos that is the No Parking/Loading zone outside the Giant on 3rd and H. About half of the block between H and I is designated as a No Parking or Loading zone, primarily because the Giant Loading dock opens to 3rd and large delivery trucks need ample clear space to maneuver and back in. “Dear PoPville,
Oh my god the same thing happened to me on H Street/union station with someone with a similar description (short twist braids, but a bit taller, I’d guess around 5’10”). Sunday around 2:45 pm. Was transferring from the metro to streetcar so exiting the back entrance to union station. He pushed me to the ground so hard I broke my wrist and I’m now in a cast! I called the police and they arrested him. It’s uncanny bc he said something similar to the cops about how I was the one walking aggressively towards him and deserved it. (more…)

Catherine and many others write around 7am this morning: “Does anyone know why on earth there’s a helicopter circling above Columbia Heights at this hour???”
Besides it being a park police helicopter not much else is known as of 9am, stay tuned.

A friend had her car stolen on H St NE when she was doing door dash to drop off food. The kicker here is that her dog Franklin was in the backseat. Franklin was last seen in a car at the McDonald’s drive thru off of Nanny Helen Burroughs in SE. (more…)

Update from the Washington Post:
“Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. is in stable condition after being shot during a possible attempted carjacking in Washington, according to a D.C. police spokesman.
Robinson was shot twice and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries believed not to be life-threatening.”
Christian writes: “double incidents on H three blocks from each other. I think the one at 10th & H is another shooting, one at 7th looked like may have been an assault on a woman :( both significant Road blocks” (more…)
