Petite Soeur opened here in October 2021.

Their last IG post was April 30th: “We are growing so much faster than expected and the commissions and corporate gifting arm of our business needs so much attention. This has caused us to not be able to meet all of our retail hours because at times we need all hands on deck for these very large orders. Until we can train a new wave of team members we will have to amend our in person hours so we can meet our online and custom orders. I see these as positive growing pains and we ask that you continue to support us as we grow to be able to meet the incredible demand for the bonbons and sablé cookies you love!!!”

While their website is still live the top has a note saying: “Father’s Day is right around the corner stay posted to see what we are offering!”

Note from the landlord: (more…)

From a press release:

“On July 20th, the Bring Our Families Home Campaign, a campaign led by family members of Americans wrongfully detained or held hostage abroad, will be unveiling a public mural in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The mural, designed and installed by Iowan artist Isaac Campbell, will use the wheat paste technique to capture the faces of 18 Americans held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad. (more…)

It’s my favorite restaurant in town as a vegetarian, as they make any dish on the menu meat or mock meat. I walked there yesterday to find this sign and my heart stopped. (more…)

Thanks to P. for sending around 1pm: “Driver spotted going on the pedestrian path of Rose park in Georgetown with Florida plates before turning around. Lady was asking if this was a road when she saw everyone giving her death stares.”

Thanks to Theresa for sending over the weekend:

“Spotted at the Georgetown waterfront this morning (Saturday)! I asked the people on deck if the show was being filmed here and he said he couldn’t confirm or deny!”

“Dear PoPville,

On Wednesday, I was driving down Whitehurst Freeway in Georgetown (just south of 27th St). The sewer grate in the middle of the exit lane popped up as I drove over it and my brand new car is now essentially totaled. Is there any way to pursue recourse with the city? I’m very frustrated this happened! The strut and suspension in my car is broken. I hope the grate was fixed bc I imagine it’s very unsafe and hurting other people’s cars too!!!!”
