There’s some sort of scammer on Q between 17th and 18th leaving this sticky note on cars saying that they hit them and want to work something out? The sticky notes are all printed the exact same, not handwritten. Saw the same sticky note on 4 cars in this block.”
Wisconsin and Macomb Street, NW
Unfortunately more carjackings reported yesterday. Stacc Janford reported at 5:07pm “carjacking in broad day light at 3401 Idaho Ave NW. More cops showing up and some heading south down Wisconsin Ave”

“Dear PoPville,
I was walking my dog Daisy through Dupont Circle today (Tuesday, Feb 2nd) just before 11am in a failed attempt to meet Potomac Phil on this snowy Groundhog’s Day. While we were there, we saw a woman walking her adorable dog with the biggest, pointiest ears. All of a sudden, we heard a shriek, and a chorus of “DROP IT DROP IT!” Her dog got a rat. (more…)

Well this is welcome news, particular since the Starbucks at the corner has also closed. Dolcezza first opened here back in 2010. In September 2020 Dolcezza confirmed they’d be closing a number of cafes including Dupont. (more…)

We live about a block from Stead Park. There’s always a lot of activity going on there, especially as fitness classes have moved outside. We’ve never been bothered by the noise, but recently there have been almost nightly dance fitness classes. The music is extremely loud. Like so loud it it feels like we are blasting music in our house- and it’s almost every night. Plus, we are almost a block from the park on a high floor- we can’t be the only people affected by this. We’ve tried to find the name of the class so we can reach out and request that they follow the local noise ordinances, but haven’t been able to find anything. Can you help?“
