Stone Fish Grill opened in the former Balletto space at 17th and L Street, NW back in 2013.

From Stonefish’s Website:

A few weeks ago we learned that Naan and Beyond was moving from L Street to Vermont Ave in the former Juice Joint space.

Apparently they’ve also opened a food truck in the interim:

1001 Connecticut Ave, NW

Ken reports:

“Signage has gone up for a new Smoothie King in Farragut North in the building near the Connecticut/K entrance. This is next to the Starbucks and the Pret.”

RIP that old magazine/newspaper store – what was it called again? News World.

1747 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

Thanks to Jessica for reporting:

“FYI, Zen Taco opened today.

Had the taco chinos; I’d give it a solid B. The same owners and staff as Custom Fuel, which is nice to see. Clearly some first day kinks to work out, but should be a great addition to the neighborhood. And their prices seem a bit lower than the menu online for the NYC location.

Also – they have frozen margaritas!”

1823 L Street, NW

Thanks to Grant for sending word that the liquor license placards for Pisco Y Nazca Gastro Bar have now been affixed to the former Mackey’s space proper:

“New Restaurant, serving Spanish cuisine. Total Occupancy Load is 230, with seating for 230.”

Their website for a Florida location says:

“Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar adds a modern twist to traditional Peruvian cuisine. Inspired by Peru’s top ceviche eateries, this new Miami restaurant serves up bold-flavored dishes, unique cocktails and a vast selection of local and international beers.”

Check out their menu too.

STAY TUNED.

1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

Sounds like Tadich Grill may be in trouble. A tipster sends word that they’ve closed. Oddly their D.C. Facebook page posted something at 11am this morning:

“The holidays may be over, but we’re still full of cheer…and lobster rolls!

Please call 202-638-1849 or click bit.ly/2fBKzdJ to reserve!”

But when you call the number (where the restaurant is supposed to open at 11:30am) goes to voicemail and the Facebook has no mention of “Fire Protection System” problems.

Thanks to Rachel for sending this note on the door:

San Fransisco’s Tadich Grill opened up in the former Ten Penh space back in late 2015. STAY TUNED.
