Thanks to all who sent emails – The Washington Post reported yesterday:

“The D.C. Department of Health has suspended operations at Fig & Olive, the sleek new restaurant at CityCenterDC, while officials try to determine the source of an outbreak that hospitalized at least four people since late August with salmonella-like symptoms.”

parking cycle track

“Dear PoPville,

I dodged this amazing parking job this afternoon on 15th St just south of K St NW. More off-pissing than anything else was the fact that the legal parking on the correct side of the barriers, along the entire block, was completely unoccupied. When DC parking enforcement seems to issue no tickets on Sundays, I guess this is inevitable. Of note: this is the first time I’ve seen this particular move by a car that didn’t have Maryland plates, but that doesn’t really feel like cause for celebration.”

I agree it’s annoying as hell but is it possible they were confused by the parking meters? Why are there even parking meters next to the cycle track, a vestige before it went in?

A reader reports:

“I was walking to work yesterday and saw a sign for a new TCB in the Pillsbury building at 17, M and Rhode Island NW! I was sure that spot would be filled with the obligatory Starbucks, so I’m thrilled to see The Coffee Bar expanding. Yeah for locally-owned small businesses!”

Ed. Note: The Coffee Bar opened up their first location back in Dec. 2012 at 12th and S St, NW.
