Update: Jessica Sidman tweets:
“FYI it’s not permanently closed. Talked to owner Jamie Leeds who says she’s working with the landlord on a “wait and see situation.” She says it doesn’t make sense to open now given the restaurant’s size and shape.”
I still think it’s odd to remove the whole Capitol Hill presence from their website. I do hope they are able to reopen, of course.
Thanks to Brian (and others) for sending:
“Per Hank’s website all locations have reopened minus Capitol Hill.
Has Hank’s abandoned their Capitol Hill location? There is no mention of this location opening or closing on social media.” (more…)

3rd and Pennsylvania Ave, SE
On Friday we heard that all the furniture had been removed from the Pret a Manger at 3rd and Pennsylvania Ave, SE. Thanks to Brad and Shellie for sending updated photos of the signage removed.
This Pret opened back in 2014 and before that the space was home to a Cosi. Stay tuned for what’s next.

1st and D Street, SE via Tortilla Coast
CONFIRMED. I literally just called @tortillacoast to see if it was true. Devastating news. https://t.co/3OsGaCFpEH

UPDATE:
We planned to shutdown @tortillacoast this Sunday because the landlord has been so unreasonable. But since @PoPville announced impending closing, so many guests have flocked to the Coast, we have decided to keep rolling until at least July 26. We need a #margaritamiracle pic.twitter.com/JQNsWx9wr0

Oh my goodness. I too tried to call but the phone just rang without being picked up at 7:30pm anyway.
Tortilla Coast is, of course, “A Tex-Mex tradition on Capitol Hill since 1988”
Tortilla Coast closed their Logan Circle location at 15th and P St, NW back in 2017.
Updates when more is known.

From an email:
“Kirk and I are very excited to share that we’ll be opening a brand new Captain Cookie store at Eastern Market! Our official public opening will be Thursday, July 2 at 11am, and we will be open that day until 10pm.
