“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close lanes of traffic and restrict curbside parking on Connecticut Avenue from Porter Street to Nebraska Avenue NW starting on or about Tuesday, September 3, 2019, weather permitting. At least one lane will be open to the traffic in each direction.

The contractor is authorized to work Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The contractor is also authorized to work Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (more…)

There are ‘no trespassing’ signs up all over (that have never been there before) and people pressure washing the sidewalk, and the three homeless folks who live there (who always mind their own business and keep their belongings orderly) are not to be seen anywhere. “Members of the Second District responded to a call for sounds of gunshots at 4500 Connecticut Avenue, NW on the Sixth Floor. Caller reported hearing 2 people arguing in the hallway and what sounded like one shot from a gun being fired. Officers arrived on the scene and found one shell casing on the floor. No reports of victim or suspect on the scene. This case is currently under investigation. Report numbers 19-057048.
