“Temporary Lane Closures on Connecticut Avenue Start 9/3 to 10/4”

“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close lanes of traffic and restrict curbside parking on Connecticut Avenue from Porter Street to Nebraska Avenue NW starting on or about Tuesday, September 3, 2019, weather permitting. At least one lane will be open to the traffic in each direction.

The contractor is authorized to work Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The contractor is also authorized to work Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (more…)

There are ‘no trespassing’ signs up all over (that have never been there before) and people pressure washing the sidewalk, and the three homeless folks who live there (who always mind their own business and keep their belongings orderly) are not to be seen anywhere. Gunshot Fired on the 6th Floor of a building at 4500 Connecticut Avenue, NW Last Night (near Bread Furst)

“Members of the Second District responded to a call for sounds of gunshots at 4500 Connecticut Avenue, NW on the Sixth Floor. Caller reported hearing 2 people arguing in the hallway and what sounded like one shot from a gun being fired. Officers arrived on the scene and found one shell casing on the floor. No reports of victim or suspect on the scene. This case is currently under investigation. Report numbers 19-057048. Sugar Fox, from Little Red Fox Folks, Opens this weekend

“Husband-wife duo Jena and Matt Carr of Little Red Fox will open Sugar Fox, a neighborhood ice cream shop and bakery, this weekend, in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The shop will offer house-made and customizable treats including ice cream by the scoop, milkshakes, cakes, and cupcakes.

Ed. Note: I guess this finally settles the neighborhood name dispute.
