About a month ago we learned that Pho 54 was coming to the former Love ‘n’ Faith cafe space on 14th Street just north of Florida Ave. I spotted some workers and they said they’d be opening in “the 2nd week of July”. Stay tuned for an exact date.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2019, in the 1400 block of W Street, Northwest.
At approximately 4:17 pm, members of the Third District responded to the south alley, of the listed location, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an unconscious adult male victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. (more…)

All this construction on 14th has left a lot of intersections less safe, such as here at 14th and Florida where all the posts seem to be facing each other and the crosswalk indicator seems to be gone (?). “Looks like the first bus island is being built on 14th Street as part of the Streetscape project. This is at 14th and N. They’re apparently going to stretch all the way up to Florida.
