1843 7th Street, NW

Helluva run, helluva run indeed. Yesterday we broke the news that the famed Pop Up Bars of 7th Street were likely finished since all their equipment had gone up for auction. This morning Washingtonian confirms the news:

“The bar officially closed on Dec. 31 and will not be replaced by a permanent drinking destination.”

So of all the pop ups that came and went, for those that went, which was your favorite? I liked the Cherry Blossom ones.

Well this is something. Thanks to a reader for passing on this listing from Rasmus Auctions:

“M30277 – Miracle on 7th Street Pop-up Bar – Washington, DC
Restaurant Equipment”

The tipster notes: “I thought maybe they were getting rid of accumulated junk from old concepts, but you don’t sell the sinks and ice machines unless you’re done (or it’s a complete renovation which I doubt).” (more…)

Thanks to Jason for sending above and Mer below:

“observed near Vermont Ave, V Street NW intersection. There was another one, in a garbage container, just a block down. So strange…” (more…)
