2000 block of 8th Street, NW view from Florida Ave

Now that Town 2.0 is is a go I was curious how the original location was looking in Shaw. It’s going to be the JLinea apartments:

“Coming Spring 2020, J Linea will enable you to live in the center of it all. Like the eclectic neighborhood surrounding it, this luxe apartment community is unlike any other destination in the city. (more…)

700 block of Florida Ave, NW

A reader reports that in Shaw he heard 5-6 shots fired.

From MPD:

“MPD is investigating calls for sounds of gunshots in the area of the 700 block of Florida Ave NW and the Unit block of Florida Ave NE. There are no victims at this time. Due to traffic congestion, please avoid those areas until further notice.”

Updates when/if more is known/released.

We can’t wait to start providing Shaw/Mount Vernon a steady supply of bagels! (more…)

1843 7th Street, NW

“The bar officially closed on Dec. 31 and will not be replaced by a permanent drinking destination.”

So of all the pop ups that came and went, for those that went, which was your favorite? I liked the Cherry Blossom ones.

Well this is something. Thanks to a reader for passing on this listing from Rasmus Auctions:

“M30277 – Miracle on 7th Street Pop-up Bar – Washington, DC
Restaurant Equipment”

The tipster notes: “I thought maybe they were getting rid of accumulated junk from old concepts, but you don’t sell the sinks and ice machines unless you’re done (or it’s a complete renovation which I doubt).” (more…)
