Ed. Note: See the Ghostburger Menu here.

From a press release:

“Josh and Kelly Phillips and the Destination Unknown Restaurants team opened Espita in 2016 as an ode to their love for Mezcal and Oaxacan cuisine. Since opening, Espita has been a leader in Mezcal’s growing popularity on the East Coast and a Mexican staple for Washingtonians. With this realization in mind and after months of trying to find the perfect spot for Ghostburger’s first standalone location, they decided that opening Ghostburger in the place it originally took off was a perfect full circle moment. Ghostburger will officially open on August 29th, 2022, and will be the first standalone location of the growing brand. (more…)

From an email:

“DC’s next big pop-up is just around the corner! Marking National Rum Day, Noches del Caribe, a nod to the Afro-Latin cultures and countries of the Caribbean and one of their biggest exports (rum!), debuts August 16 at Roy Boys’ Shaw location.

Noches del Caribe is a concept created by Luis Aliaga, beverage director at Roy Boys and Casa Kantuta, the Bolivian modern speakeasy pop-up. Similar to Casa Kantuta, Aliaga is drawing inspiration from his own heritage to share with Washingtonians through traditional spirits, signature cocktails and delicious food. Aliaga is half Bolivian and half Venezuelan. Specifically, he grew up spending time on Margarita Island, where his mother is from. (more…)
