DC Health is holding a community meeting on Thursday, 8/18, to discuss the “rat crisis” in the Logan Circle neighborhood (specifically, the block between 14th and 15th streets and Rhode Island and P streets). The attached flyer was distributed to some residents yesterday.
What the flyer doesn’t mention is that the Grace Reformed Church (1405 15th St. NW) has been abandoned since late 2019 / early 2020. It is $242K in arrears in property taxes, and rats have infested the property. It’s estimated that it will cost about $50K to exterminate, but it’s not clear who will pay for that.”
