Saw this sign in the door at the CVS at 1900 7th St NW. Figured I’d pass along given the similar situation covered a couple weeks ago at Safeway in SW.”

“Dear PoPville,
“Doug” the scammer is loose on Q Street. Just chased him away from our house just down from Dacha. Calling himself “Dr. Doug Scott” and that he needs to make a call since he left his suit somewhere blah blah blah. The pic you have from Jan 16 is spot on except he’s now wearing glasses. He rang the bell and when I opened the outer door (since I thought it was UPS) he stuck his foot in the door and began his pitch. I called him out as a scammer and that the whole neighborhood was aware of him. He got real quiet and backed away slowly. The Hubby was a little taken aback by how forceful I was but then I showed him the photo and your ongoing coverage and I mentioned he shoved his foot in the door. I did call the cops.”
From the Whitman-Walker Health:
“Thank you for publishing this piece on Doug/Gene. I wanted to offer an update that this individual is not a Whitman-Walker employee and has not been on staff with us.
We appreciate you bringing light to this story as we’ve learned of their scams.”

“It looks like a Po Boy Jim’s is opening up a second location in the former Axum Ethiopian restaurant. Looks like a great addition to the neighborhood. Next to the Shaw Sugar Shack.”
Back in March of last year we first learned that H Street, NE’s Po Boy Jim would be opening up a second location in Shaw on 9th Street just south of U Street. The original Po Boy Jim opened on H Street back in July 2014. Check out their menu here.

“Dear PoPville,
I would like to try to let a woman know that myself and my husband are willing to be witnesses for her if she wishes to press charges against her assailant. We attempted to intervene and called 911 when we witnessed her being assaulted on the street at 7th and M tonight [Tuesday 7:30pm]. I thought she was being robbed but when I stopped and honked to try to scare him off and he went back to choking her and holding her against a vehicle it became more apparent they knew each other or were in a relationship. I really would like to help her if possible.”
Ed. Note: If the victim or a friend of the victim happens to come across this offer please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with the OP. Wishing you peace and safety.

From Supra:
The brunch menu features Chef Malkhaz Maisashvili’s creative take on omelets and egg dishes, including a unique hybrid between khachapuri and shakshuka called the Ajaruli Ketse Bostneuli made with roasted eggplant, sweet peppers, squash, tomato sulguni and an egg baked in khachapuri dough. The Khacho Cakes are a gluten-free ricotta pancake made in a style popular in Eastern Europe, with apricot preserves fresh apple and maple syrup. Various khachapuri, breads fresh from the toné oven, gluten-free berry muffins and sandwiches round out the menu. Cocktails such as the Pom Pom, a pomegranate juice, pomegranate wine and sparkling wine concoction; the Bloody Mariami made with vodka, red tkemali (a red Georgian plum sauce), red ajika (a spicy house-made seasoning), lemon, cilantro syrup and svanuri salt showcase the creativity of the Supra bar team in reinventing traditional brunch cocktails with Georgian ingredients.
