So let’s get right to it – I hear the folks from the incredibly popular Showtime bar in Bloomingdale will be bringing a new bar to north country on Georgia Ave near Kennedy Street. Showtime opened in Bloomingdale back in 2013 and are perennially placed on all the ‘best of’ lists around town. Deservedly so. STAY TUNED.

“Dear PoPville,

This question makes me sound like I’m 70 years old but have you heard anyone else talking about how the CVS at Georgia/New Hampshire Avenue consistently disperses too few pills? Usually it’s just one or two but last night my asthma medicine was short by 6 pills. I didn’t notice until after they were closed but will go over today to tell them. I’m just wondering if this is only happening to me?”

Update from MPD:

“At approximately 9:07pm last night, we received several calls for the sounds of gunshots in the area of 600 Morton, Georgia/Keefer, 3300 Warder, 500 Lamont. Units responded and found a residence with a damaged window in the 500 block of Lamont that we believe was caused by a bullet. It is believed that the gunshots were fired from somewhere near the basketball court on Morton street, but we are continuing to investigate and review videos. Anyone that might have additional information is asked to contact MPD.”

From Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Bennett Hilley:

“Please see the attached flyer (info copied below) for the first of two community meetings to get community feedback and discuss next steps for the former Hebrew Home/1125 Spring Road. Apologies for the short notice; however, there will be another meeting held with the same format/information that will occur later this month if you cannot attend the one this Saturday.

While everyone is welcome, this meeting will be focused on getting input from residents, businesses, and other institutions that are located near the development. Since the development plan has already been selected, the discussion will be focused on aspects of the development that will directly impact the surrounding area, including traffic/parking, building design, and community amenities. “Dear PoPville,

Two very horny raccoons on our front porch who spent the better part of two hours making out and then forming a mini fight club with a third raccoon. Removal suggestions welcome as they seem to have taken refuge under our porch.”
