On opening day, Mayor Muriel E. Bowser will be kicking off the market during the opening ceremony welcome beginning at 12PM. The spacious, open-air market will take place in the eclectic arts and entertainment corridor in Penn Quarter, filling up two entire blocks of F Street NW, from 7th to 9th Streets, NW–steps away from the buzzing Capital One Arena and Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. There is a storefront beside the Navy Memorial named Fooda. I think it is run by José Andrés. It is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1130 to 2. Each day is a different food vendor with all different types of cuisine. It is a joy. (more…)



12th and E Street, NW

Thanks to Elle (I took a photo too) for sending: “Spotted at 12th/E St NW… becoming a Vietnamese spot! Not sure about the sushi part but I’ll take it! Maybe I’ll be tempted to go to the office more…”

54 Restaurant is coming to the former Cafe Philips space, which closed back in 2015. Updates when we get an opening date – we’ve been monitoring since November 2020 but the new awning is promising!!
