Readers reported just before 4pm: “Big police presence in Georgia Ave between Otis and New Hampshire Ave. helicopter circling as well.”

“Multiple shots. May have been related to police traffic stop at Quebec and Georgia.”

From MPD: “MPD is on the scene of an officer-involved shooting near the area of Georgia Ave NW and Quebec Ave NW. At this time, no one has been struck. Additional information forthcoming. PIO en route to the scene.”

“Multiple Cars Broken Into Along Park Place”

“Dear PoPville,

Thursday morning, sometime between 5:30 and 6:30am someone went down Park Place from Rock Creek Church to at least Newton smashing car windows on both sides of the street and looking for valuables. At least 5 cars were hit, three of them from my condo building.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Over the last couple of years Bruce Monroe park has become a pole of attraction for drugs and crime. Last year, the play area was vandalized. This year, the fence has been taken down already twice, presumably to obtain access after hours (see picture above). There is always a lot of trash scattered on the ground. It is not unusual to see people using drugs, and a few months ago someone died of overdose.

A. asks: “is Mom N Pops Antiques in Park View closing? There’s new “For Sale” window wraps up saying ground floor business and residential. It’s currently one floor, so it would be awful to see this place go & another condo building go in.”
