Update from DC Fire and EMS: “Crash with vehicle overturned 18th St & Wyoming Ave N. Vehicle on its roof. #DCsBravest have 1 occupant self extricated being assessed by EMS for possible minor injuries.”

I rent in a building next door to the Marriott Wardman Park that is slated to be demolished (with a 900 unit apartments constructed in its place). Many renters in the neighborhood are wondering about the timeline of the project (so we can plan accordingly), but we can’t seem to find any specific information (other than the general plans). Does anyone out there have more info or know where we can find it?”

“Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA), District leaders, and community members participated celebrated the opening of The Appleton, The Robeson, and The Rows, three communities that make up the Spring Flats redevelopment that transforms a previously blighted site into affordable housing for seniors and families as well as homeownership opportunities. In total, the Spring Flats project is delivering 185 housing units, of which 149 are affordable. The Appleton is providing 88 affordable units for seniors. The Robeson offers 87 apartment units for mixed-income households, and The Rows offers ten townhouse-style condos. (more…)

Been closed at least 3-4 weeks but I keep forgetting to post.
Bom Korean Fried Chicken opened here back in December 2017. Previously this was the longtime home to Millie and Al’s. Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.

There is an out-of-state vehicle that was parked on our street in September and has not been moved since. Several neighbors noticed that it is leaking fluids and there is what appears to be an oil slick running right down into the storm drain.
