“Little District Books opened June 17th, 2022. A dream business for owner Patrick Kern, a 10-year resident of the greater Washington D.C. area.
“I wanted to create the bookstore I needed when I was younger,” said Kern, explaining that while many indie bookstores carry titles by queer authors, they might only carry one or two titles from a particular author, and they can be hard to locate among the thousands of other books.” As an example, he pointed out writers like T.J. I saw your story about Francis Stevens pool being closed for the few months it is open in the summer – announced on May 24, a week before it was to open. That was just infuriating – that the city could not have determined what repairs needed to be done and did them between September of last year and May of this year, and notifying residents a week before it was to open.
Now today I went to go swimming at the Dunbar pool and there was a sign that said that the Dunbar pool is closed for the summer season starting June 17. WTF? (more…)
