“On Sunday, September 11 the 13th Annual DC State Fair will take place in Congress Heights at Gateway DC on the Saint Elizabeth’s East Campus from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This marks the return of the annual event to an in-person format for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The daylong celebration of all things homegrown is unique among local fairs and festivals: it is run entirely by volunteers and is free to attend.
Like state fairs across the country, the DC State Fair celebrates all things local – the agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents of the people who live or work in or frequent the District. “Dear PoPville,
Sunday morning I woke up at 630 am and saw that my car–parked off street in my driveway–had been stolen.
I promptly called 911 and notified the dispatcher that my car had been stolen. I gave her the VIN number, make and model of the car and she told me that police were en route to interview me.
I waited over two hours, with additional calls to 911, for the police to show up. (more…)
