Shooting Reported in Takoma at 8:20pm

Shooting was reported outside Takoma Station around 8:20pm.

Update from MPD:

“On July 14, 2018, at approximately 830 pm, the Metropolitan Police were called to the 6900 block of 4th Street Northwest, for the sounds of gunshots. During the investigation, a male suspect was found with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. This person was later placed under arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and treated at a local area hospital for his injuries. (more…)

“On June 17th, 2018, at approximately 1600 hours, Fourth District units responded to a call for a shooting, in the 6900 block of 4th ST NW. Upon their arrival they observed a male with a gunshot wound to his arm. The victim was conscious, breathing, and suffering from non-life threatening injuries. “WMATA reports Red Line service suspension may continue into tomorrow morning rush hour due to ongoing fire activity near the tracks. If so, Rush Hour Promise will not be in effect on the Red Line but will continue for all others. Check wmata.com for all updates before traveling.”

“Red Line service has been restored at Brookland and Fort Totten. Shuttle bus service remains from Fort Totten, Takoma and Silver Spring. Delays and crowded conditions continue.”
