“On July 16, 2019 at approximately 7:00 pm the victim was walking to meet a friend in the 1300 block First Street SW. The victim called his friend to let her know he was at the location when four suspects walked up behind the victim and pushed him inside one of the residences. The suspects went through the victims pockets taking his property while armed with a hand gun and knife. Fortunately the victim was not injured. “The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 2900 block of 14th Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

“At approximately 735 pm, members of the First District were alerted to sounds of gunshots in the 900 3rd Street SW. a First District member found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds to the body… The male was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries. There may have been as many as (2) people shooting and a vehicle fleeing the area at a very high rate of speed. Moments later, an adult male was located a few blocks over suffering from an apparent gunshot graze to the body. “On 5/27/19, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers from the First District were in the 1300 block of First Street SW when gunfire was heard nearby. The officers responded to the area of the gunshots and found an adult male victim that had been shot in the back. (more…)


From MPD Sunday 5:30am:

Earlier this morning, Third District officers were patrolling the area of 9th and U streets NW when they heard the sound of a single gunshot. Officers pursued a subject on foot, detaining him a short distance away. At the time of the stop, the subject was in possession of a firearm magazine loaded with ammunition, but no firearm.

A short while later, an adult male approached the officers with injuries consistent with graze wounds to the lower extremities. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers and detectives are continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”
