Shooting in Columbia Heights; Shots Fired in Navy Yard/Hill East and Daytime Shots Fired in SW Waterfront

From MPD (sent at 12:45am):

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 2900 block of 14th Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

On 7/9/19 at approximately 11:40 p.m., First District officers were called to the 1100 block of K Street SE for a report of multiple gunshots. On the scene, officers located several vehicles that had sustained damage due to gunfire. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the shots. A dark-colored Toyota Camry was observed leaving the area at high speed, as is a vehicle of interest in this incident.

First District detectives are actively investigating this incident. Should anyone have information or video that might be related to the incident, please contact the First District Detectives office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”

“We experienced an incident today in which a person discharged a gun in the 1500 block of 1st Street, SW shortly after 12pm. There was property damage to a vehicle and two air conditioners. No victims were located. I, and your police officers, take this incident extremely seriously and ask that if anyone has any information related to this incident you contact us immediately on 202-727-9099 or via text at 50411. If you live in the area and you have a camera system, please check it during the aforementioned time frame, and if you see anything out of the ordinary or concerning, please contact us immediately.”
