Shooting in Columbia Heights; Shots Fired in Navy Yard/Hill East and Daytime Shots Fired in SW Waterfront

From MPD (sent at 12:45am):

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 2900 block of 14th Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

On 7/9/19 at approximately 11:40 p.m., First District officers were called to the 1100 block of K Street SE for a report of multiple gunshots. On the scene, officers located several vehicles that had sustained damage due to gunfire. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the shots. A dark-colored Toyota Camry was observed leaving the area at high speed, as is a vehicle of interest in this incident.

First District detectives are actively investigating this incident. “We experienced an incident today in which a person discharged a gun in the 1500 block of 1st Street, SW shortly after 12pm. There was property damage to a vehicle and two air conditioners. No victims were located.
