CIRCA at Navy Yard marks the first of two Navy Yard openings for the MHG team, who will welcome Él Bebe, a tacos and tequila concept, in the adjoining space in the coming weeks.

CIRCA at Navy Yard is the fourth outpost for CIRCA, which has locations in Chinatown, Foggy Bottom and Clarendon. “Dear PoPville,

The ATF has released their report on the Arthur Capper Fire at the senior home in Navy Yard a few months ago. To say the findings are disturbing is an understatement.

· Investigators ruled out electrical or other mechanical causes of the fire, saying it was likely the result of human activity in the attic.

· There was clear evidence someone tried to put the fire out with a garden house from the roof just after it started. (more…)

“Dacha will be opening their restaurant by mid-March!

They will begin construction on the outside terrace beginning later this week. This will involve removing the benches and chairs that are directly in front of their space. However, they will be re-opening the space in April will new seating, lights, and décor.”

Good evening, just wanted to let all know that thank you to the good number of citizens that came forward with their tips and keen observations, an arrest was made last night relating to this event. First district units were able to locate the individual responsible for discharging the weapon and actually striking 2 unoccupied vehicles that were parked on the street. (more…)

“Today, the Washington Nationals announced that beginning with the 2019 season backpacks may not be brought into Nationals Park, except as otherwise provided in the Nationals Bag Policy. The policy was revised in order to enhance ballpark safety. Exceptions may be made for backpack diaper bags or backpacks used for ADA/medical reasons. All purses, briefcases, drawstring bags, diaper bags and soft-sided coolers that do not exceed 16″x16″x8” will still be permitted. On the day of purchase, backpacks bought during games or events at Nationals Park will be tagged and permitted for that day only. (more…)

“The Fifth District is investigating an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) that occurred on Monday, February 4, 2019 in the Unit block of Florida Avenue, NE.

An adult male victim was found at the location suffering from multiple stab wounds to the body. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The liquor license placard for Punch Bowl Social is posted at one of the new buildings right outside the metro on Half Street not far from Nats Park. It says:

“A restaurant that will serve food made from scratch for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch with social activities. The licensee is requesting 2 Sidewalk Cafés with seating for 40 patrons. The licensee is also requesting a Summer Garden with seating for 20 patrons. They are also requesting an Entertainment Endorsement to provide live entertainment indoors only. Interior seating for 250, with a Total Occupancy Load of 1050.”
