“Jeep ended up mounting the wall at 17th and A SE. We need traffic calming measures. People@17th like it is a race track”

Driving me crazy, pun intended, since 2007.

Thanks to a reader for sending from the Hill East Listserv – do not read if you are on blood pressure medication:

“On 15th at around C SE, I was driving home from grocery shopping. A large SUV was simply stopped in the middle of the road, hazards on, while the driver stood there and chatted with some people she knew. Totally out of her car, just standing on the road chatting. When I pulled up behind her, she gave me a look and told me, “You can wait.” I tapped on my horn, and this enraged her. She flipped me off, and told me, “Now I’m gonna waste time just to punish you.”

For the few blocks it took me to get home, she drove at about three miles an hour in front of me. I got a picture of her license plate. This is illegal, right? Is there anything I can do?

At the very least, if you’re someone out there who thinks you’re more important than anyone else, and that all of traffic can just stop for all you care as long as you get what you want, just know that I personally think you’re a selfish and inconsiderate person.”

Guests are asked to only bring reusable water bottles and food containers onto the island; each attendee will be provided with a reusable cup to use at vendors and water stations. Food vendors will be required to use only compostable or recyclable food serviceware. “Dear PoPville,

I am interested to hear what the community thinks. Tonight at the convention center EventsDC is hosting an open meeting to discuss the redevelopment of the RFK site. I’m torn as to whether their plans are a good thing or not. What are the pros or cons of their plan? Any other thoughts on the matter?”

RFK Stadium-Armory Campus Redvelopment Recommendations: Community Meeting

Thursday, January 5, 2017 – 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Room 146ABC
Walter E. Washington Convention Center
801 Mount Vernon Place
Washington, DC 20001

After extensive planning, outreach, public input and involvement, Events DC is proud to present two concepts for the RFK Stadium-Armory Campus. Our vision for the Campus’ future is to create a revitalized site that celebrates its iconic beauty and history – while also acting as a first-class example of urban living that can attract residents and visitors and at the same time maintain a strong local identity.

Acting as a catalyst for the city, the RFK Campus future project will also make a substantial economic impact on the District, by reinvesting into the city through job opportunities, youth programs, local business development and ample community benefits and neighborhood serving amenities for residents to enjoy.
