“On 6/8/20 at approximately 02:44 a.m., First District officers responded to the 1200 block of I St SE for the sounds of gunshots. Immediately after the initial call, another call came in for a traffic crash in the block. Officers responded and found that a Dodge sedan had collided with two parked vehicles in the block and the occupant[s] had fled on foot. Additionally, there was evidence of gunfire and damage to several other parked vehicles in the block. (more…)

“This afternoon at approximately 4:22 pm, officers from the First District were in the vicinity of the 1100 block of K Street SE when they heard the sounds of gunshots. While the officers were beginning to canvass, we received a call for a shooting in the 1100 block of K Street SE. Officers located three adult male victims and began to render aid. (more…)

Brandon reported: “mugging/assault on 1500 block of Constitution Ave NE. Three assailants fled on foot. Thankfully neighbors saw it go down and were out to help in seconds. 5+ squads and an ambulance

From MPD: “The First District is currently investigating a robbery that occurred this evening at approximately 7:55 pm in the 1500 block of Constitution Ave NE. The victim reported that they were approached by several suspects, who began punching him in the face before taking his wallet. (more…)

Ed. Note: A LOT of folks were confused by this message many received on their phones last night. It was not a shelter in place order (at this time, anyway.) Seems like some officers are confused too.

“Dear PoPville,

Not sure if this is happening elsewhere in the city. We have a nanny share between our two children and one other child. Today the Nanny took the kids out for a walk around the neighborhood, like she does everyday for exercise and fresh air. Today police saw her, asked if she was going to Lincoln park, she replied no, that she was just walking around and making sure they avoid people. Police told her she can’t do that, she is not allowed to leave the house and she must go home. (more…)

“1D units are currently on the scene investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 7:20 this evening in the 100 block of 15th St NE. The suspects approached the victim and demanded his personal property and vehicle. Taken was a White Honda Civic bearing DC Tags FK4135 and a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker. Lookout is for (3) B/M’s, all 6′ in height, wearing all black clothing and ski masks all armed with knives.
