“On Wednesday, April 19, the NoMa Parks Foundation will unveil the K Street Virtual Gallery, a new, permanent outdoor art installation located in the 400-foot rail underpass on K Street between First and Second Streets NE.

Featuring 12 high-lumen laser projectors, each carefully calibrated and synchronized to cast a series of images on to the reticulated stone walls that flank the roadway, the K Street Virtual Gallery will enliven and brighten this section of K Street NE. Help Rename the new space to replace “Dave Thomas Circle”

Ed. Note: If I may be so bold, may I suggest the name – Dave Thomas Circle. Alternatively I’d accept Wendy’s Way.

“The reconfiguration of the Florida Avenue/New York Avenue NE intersection, often referred to as the “Virtual Circle” or “Dave Thomas Circle” is scheduled to begin later this year. This intersection has been a chronic challenge for the District for generations.

In addition to improving safety and navigation for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers, this project will improve the overall experience for everyone by bringing three new public spaces to the area immediately adjacent to the intersection. In advance of the delivery of these new spaces, the NoMa Business Improvement District (NoMa BID) is partnering with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and inviting members of the community to suggest one overall name for the trio of new public spaces. “CiNoMatic, NoMa’s free outdoor movie series at Alethia Tanner Park, is returning for its fourth season this spring. Every Wednesday night from May 3 through May 31, the NoMa Business Improvement District (BID) will show free movies under the stars.
